MADISON — Madison’s most radical leftist City Council member (boy, that’s a pick ‘em) got on Facebook this week to promote the violent “mostly peaceful” protests that ravaged downtown Madison again.
Alder Max Prestigiacomo pushed an online call to action flier declaring, Madison Stands With Kenosha 8/23 & 8.24.
Not, Madison stands with the victims of riots that have left portions of Kenosha in smoldering rubble. Madison, according to the council member, supports the Black Lives Matter demonstrators/anarchists.
“No Peace Police. Do What You Want. Fuck Shit Up,” the anti-police promotion urges demonstrators.
It seems to have worked. Madison police say hundreds of protesters turned out Monday night, more than a day after an officer-involved shooting of a black man in Kenosha. Rioters in Madison, in solidarity with rioters in Kenosha, smashed windows, set property on fire and looted several businesses.
Prestigiacomo seemed proud of passing around the call to riot, lashing out at a Facebook commenter who criticized him.
“If me using an expletive made you uncomfortable; Woah! You better start getting comfortable w/it because Gen Z’ers are fucking pissed off!” the weasely little white alderman wrote. “Politicians use language to virtue signal all the time, so yeah, you bet we’re going to use that weapon against them and make people uncomfortable. I’m here to break up this broken white supremacist system.”
Prestigiacomo has endorsed de-funding police over time, diverting those funds into social programs. He told Channel 3000 earlier this year that he wants to get Madison to the point where it doesn’t need police officers.
He did a bang up job of that, of course, endorsing a riot built on a protest. Not only did the lawlessness demand more police presence, Gov. Tony Evers was forced to (reluctantly) declare a state of emergency and call in the National Guard.
Bob Klebba on Facebook told Prestigiacomo the “role of alder comes with responsibility.” He was jumped on by another radical who, like so many leftists, appears to see justice as a one-way street.
Prestigiacomo shot back that he recognizes his responsibility to “use this platform” his constituents apparently elected him to use.
“I exist to serve and reduce harm for District 8, many of which are BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color) — who are most impacted by police violence,” he wrote. “I only wish more of my colleagues felt the same because black people dying because of police violence is a policy DECISION.”
Of course the woke ‘Gen Z’er’ doesn’t mind painting with a very broad brush. He apparently cares little about the men and women who routinely protect the alder’s constituents from harm — the same men and women sent in to save citizens and property from the cop-hating anarchists Prestigiacomo promotes.
