The of Minnesota chapter of Students for a Democratic Society is at it again, demanding that campus security officers trade in their firearms for cans of pepper spray.
Last year a group of about 16 protesters gathered outside the University of Minnesota Police Department’s headquarters to, as one student put it, “nip in the bud any circumstances where police can murder people. “
According to the Minnesota Daily Mail, the last time a campus officer fired his weapon on duty was to shoot a dying racoon in 2012. It was the only reported incident of a police officer discharging a weapon on a University of Minnesota campus in ten years.
So what, says SDS? It’s time to stop these fascist campus security guards from turning their campus into a war zone.
Friday the group held a “study in” at president Joan Gabel’s office again demanding that campus police be relieved of their weapons and that the University “increase the diversity of the student population.
We don’t think the campus police have anything to worry about. Turns out the more comfortable indoor protest, complete with Halloween decorated donuts, turned out just eight protestors.

A LIBERAL application of said pepper spray should have been applied to the “studiers,” inasmuch as they were committing criminal trespass. Oh, follow up with some jail time and fines substantial enough to dissuade further squatting in areas these fools have no possessory rights.
