MADISON — Turns out Milwaukee’s power-grabbing public health officer is a snowflake.
Health Commissioner Jeanette Kowalik recently announced she was taking her mask and going home — or at least to a liberal D.C. think tank, where all disgruntled former bureaucrats go.
In a scorched earth breakup letter to Milwaukee, published in the liberal Daily Beast, Kowalik laid bare (kind of) “The Racism I Faced As Milwaukee’s Health Boss Under COVID-19.”
She did a return engagement Sunday on UpFront.
What nightmarish treatment did this health bureaucrat face? You name it.
“When I’m talking about racism, I’m talking about a variety of levels of racism. Whether they are microaggressions, various microinvalidations, micro insults, you know, being cut out of important conversations. Being cut out of various opportunities to make decisions, so on and so forth,” Kowalik said.
Microaggessions. Microinvalidations. Microinsults.
So little aggressions, times when she was slightly invalidated, and tiny insults?
This isn’t a leader of a profound health crisis. This is a fragile college student filling out a Hate and Bias reporting form to the school’s Woke Diversity officer.
Kowalik presided over an agency that repeatedly used whatever authority it thought it had to take away the constitutional rights of Milwaukee citizens — in the name of public safety. Criticism comes with the territory. Did she perceive, ‘Stop shutting down our schools!’ or ‘Why are you taking my livelihood away from me?’ as microaggessions? Was she not validated when she faced a lawsuit before the Supreme Court for telling parents they couldn’t send their kids to an in-person private school in the city?
These are remarkable times, requiring real leadership. Not health officials whose feelings don’t feel validated.
Be gone, Jeanette Kowalik, before we macroinsult your insufferable snowflakeness.
I’m not surprised at all. Local government is decaying quickly … someone will gladly step into her role, enjoy the nice salary and benefits (I assume!), and go along with whatever Mayor wants. She never struck me as someone with a real backbone.
I am micro-amused.
A person is not instantly qualified for any office or job because of aggrieved group status. Kowalik was unqualified from the start. Boo hoo you Democrat gestapo tool. Play that overused race card. Go cry.

Jeanette Kowalik, an associate director of the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs in Washington, D.C., has filed for bankruptcy twice and had a Milwaukee home foreclosed on by a lender and then sold.
Kowalik, 39, most recently filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2014, listing $217,000 in assets and $406,000 in liabilities.
Her assets at the time included the Milwaukee house and timeshares in two condominiums in Orlando, Fla. Later in 2014, Kowalik was sued by mortgage lender James B. Nutter & Co. for not making payments on the house, which she bought for $152,000.
