All Woke Up: No good deed goes unpunished in Wokeland

Empower Wisconsin | March 4,  2020

For the painfully woke, one can never truly be woke enough.

Latest example: The Western Michigan University School of Music, accused of “cultural appropriation” after a concert featured a “mostly white” choir performing African-American spirituals.

As the College Fix reported, the recent performance, billed as “Spirituals: From Ship to Shore,” featured Salisbury University’s John Wesley Wright, who is black. While Wright told the university’s student newspaper that the songs were “for everyone,” that they “have no ethnicity,” that wasn’t enough to soothe the wokeburn of an aggrieved Western Michigan student.

It’s just the latest example of no good deed going unpunished in Wokeland.

Christian Schneider of The College Fix has more.
