If we’ve learned anything over the last couple of weeks of chaos, it’s that the radical left is eating the woke.
Case in point, Landon Meske, general manager of Knuckleheads, a tobacco, vape and smoking accessories store nestled “high above” State Street. The head shop was among several stores in downtown Madison badly damaged in the recent riots that spun out of the “peaceful” protests on racism and police brutality.
Meske told Empower Wisconsin that looters did an estimated $100,000 in damage to the store. He said about half the glass cases in the store were broken and 75 percent of the glass water pipes were taken or smashed.
Still, he’s down with the “movement” and the protesters and seems to excuse the vandalism and the violence as an offshoot of a noble and righteous cause.
“If breaking windows and causing this much damage is the way to do it, so be it,” Meske said. “Knuckleheads’ stance is, we want all this to be worth it.”
Insurance will cover the damage, he added. It’s better to stand in solidarity with the social justice warriors — even if the warriors attack.
Even if they really don’t want you on their side.
The radical left activists leading the protests in Madison have made two things clear: If property and lives get damaged along the way to their vision of social justice, so be it. And they’re not much interested in the woke white people’s liberal politics.
“Do not use the names of Freedom Inc., Urban Triage Inc., and the Party for Socialism and Liberation in vain,” the groups said in a joint statement after the protests and riots began. “Do not use us to perpetuate white liberal agendas and narratives around peace.”
And the woke and the wise alike should know that these socialists and anarchists are in it for the long haul, until they drive police officers out of schools and cities, until all the criminals are released from jail, until capitalism is a memory.
They’re willing to use and step on any useful idiot for as long as it takes to turn State Street, Madison, Wisconsin and America upside down.
