All Woke Up: Woke’s new definition of work

Hard work be damned!

Professors at the University of Arizona and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs insist “success and merit” are “barriers” to the Woke’s equity agenda.

“Admitting that the normative definitions of success and merit are in and of themselves barriers to achieving the goals of justice, diversity, equity and inclusion is necessary but not sufficient to create change,” professors Beth Mitchneck and Jessi L. Smith recently wrote for Inside Higher Education.

Wow! “The dog ate my homework” excuses have nothing on these responsibility-shirking professors.

As Campus Reform reports, Mitchneck and Smith attribute traditional ideas of success to a “narrow definition of merit limited to a neoliberal view of the university.”

Specifically, they express concern that universities receive funding and recognition based on the individual performances of professors’ own work such as peer reviewed journals and studies.

They’re not alone.

Last month, University of Illinois professor Eunmi Mun said merit-based pay does not take “nonperformance-related factors” into account.

Use the “nonperformance-related factors” line during your next performance review at work and see how that works out.

It’s just more of the “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” Victim State push from the painfully Woke.

Unfortunately, such arguments seem to be working on college campuses — even if the professors aren’t.

  • A person would think that the public could see what is happening to our liberties. Hitler also used the educators to doctrinate the children to become followers of himself. History shows what that caused. Hopefully we aren’t going to let history repeat itself.

  • Just like “Vaccine Passports”, we will now require “Merit Certifications” — I will want assurances that my Airline Pilot/Air Traffic Controllers/Aircraft Mechanics, my Doctor, my Ophthalmologist, my Brain Surgeon, My Cancer Specialist, my Tax Auditor, my Accountant, my Lawyer, my Electrician, my Plumber and so many others received their training, knowledge and degrees based on MERIT, not on diversity, equity, inclusion and skin color.

Likewise for my President and Vice President and other politicians (good luck on that one).

    God help us all…

The “professor’s” goal should be to teach the subject matter. If the “professor” has goals of justice, diversity, blah, blah, blah, then he/she/it should become an activist and get out of the lecture hall.
