Bernie’s excellent radical adventure

In 1981, shortly after being elected socialist mayor of Burlington, Vt., Bernie Sanders said he didn’t believe in charities because only the government should provide social services to the needy. 

That sentiment pretty much sums up the U.S. senator and nominal Democrat presidential candidate — a redistributionist who has not only embraced socialism but has revered some of the most brutal socialist despots in modern history.
