Biden pushes coronavirus as vehicle for Green New Deal

Former Vice President Joe Biden learned the biggest lesson from his time as President Barack Obama’s No. 2: “Never let a serious crisis to go to waste.”

That was the maxim of Obama’s chief of staff and Chicago kingpin Rahm Emanuel, and Biden and his fellow Democrats are pushing crisis opportunism to the hilt. 

In a virtual briefing last week, Biden, the Democratic presidential frontrunner, said the coronavirus crisis offers an “opportunity” to push the bank-breaking, government-expanding Green New Deal.
