Biden’s poll numbers take a beating after Afghanistan fiasco

MADISON — President Joe Biden’s debacle in Afghanistan is sinking his poll numbers.

The latest Marquette Law School Poll finds 63 percent of respondents nationwide disapprove of his handling of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, while 36 percent approve.

Biden’s overall performance numbers have plummeted. His approval rating dropped to 48 percent overall, down 10 points from the law school’s July poll. He’s well underwater. The Democrat’s disapproval ratings also have declined by double digits from July — from a 42 percent unfavorable rating then to 52 percent in the recent poll.

The survey was conducted Sept. 7-16, interviewing 1,411 adults nationwide. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percent.

“Biden’s approval declined among all partisan groups from July to September,” a poll press release notes. “Already-low approval among Republicans fell by half, while independents reversed their majority approval to majority disapproval. High approval among Democrats also fell by 7 points.”

There is a partisan divide on mass Afghan resettlement in the United States, including the re-location of thousands of refugees to Wisconsin’s Fort McCoy.

Nearly two-thirds of Republicans are opposed to admitting as many Afghan refugees as possible, while 78 percent of Democrats are in support. Fifty-eight percent of Independents support mass refugee resettlement.

On Biden, if you can’t say something nice about a person, say nothing at all…nothing at all.

A logical thinking person would think his ratings would be much lower. Of course a logical thinking person could have seen that Biden was in decline during the campaign and wouldn’t have voted for him in the first place.
