It’s safe to say Bernie Sanders is feeling Hillary Clinton’s burn.
She lays into Sanders in a forthcoming Hulu documentary on Clinton, the former secretary of state and bitter, also-ran 2016 presidential candidate.
“He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him. He got nothing done,” Clinton says of the Vermont U.S. senator and Democrat presidential candidate in the four-part series simply dubbed, “Hillary.”
The documentary chronicling Clinton’s life is slated to debut in early March, but a few strategically released comments are making early waves just two weeks before the 2020 Iowa caucuses.
“He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney, and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it,” Clinton says of the self-described democratic socialist , according to an interview in The Hollywood Reporter.
Sanders and his supporters, of course, believe Clinton and the Democratic Party stole the 2016 nomination from Sanders.
Bernie didn’t bite on Clinton’s criticism. His campaign released a statement that did not directly address the rebuke but focused on his part in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.
“My focus today is on a monumental moment in American history: the impeachment trial of Donald Trump,” Sanders said.
Clinton stood by her criticism. It’s not clear whether the former secretary of state believes a Bernie can win the White House.
