What kind of state are we living in when you face being arrested for allowing your child to play at a neighbor’s home?
The Police State, under Gov. Tony Evers’ pandemic lockdown.
A video making the rounds shows Wisconsin sheriff’s deputies harassing a mom for the grave transgression of permitting her daughter to play at a friend’s house during the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Are you aware we’re in a stay-at-home order right now by the government of Wisconsin?” one of the officers asks the homeowner, identified as Amy in the video.
Amy says she’s aware of the order.
“So, I don’t need to explain that to you,” the cop says, taking a patronizing tone.
“Why are you here?” the mother asks the deputies.
“Because your daughter is going to play in other people’s homes and you’re allowing it to happen,” the officer says.
The deputies ask the woman for her full name because they want to add it to the list of order breakers they’ve spoken to.

It’s not the first case of law enforcement and government officials threatening citizens for failing to abide by Evers’ lockdown. In one case, a sheriff and his deputy threatened to arrest a 16-year-old girl for claiming on Instagram that she had COVID-19. Her doctors said she probably did. In another case, an Oshkosh dog groomer was arrested after she opened her business for curbside service.
There is more to the Calumet county incident than is being shown but the attitude of the officers is unacceptable. The two mini-Nazis are clearly enjoying the roles they are playing. Reprimands or terminations plus public apology should be in order.
How Evers ever became governor is beyond comprehension.
