Gervais roasts Hollywood’s woke phonies

Empower Wisconsin | Jan. 7, 2020

For Americans fatigued by Hollywood’s insufferable virtue-signaling, Sunday night’s Golden Globes may have been a breath of fresh air.

Ricky Gervais — the acerbic host of the awards show — hit hard and often in an eight-minute skewering monologue that spared no self-important celebrity.

Gervais closed by admonishing the assembled elite to leave their “woke” speeches off the award show’s stage.

“So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a political platform to make a political speech,” the comedian said. “You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So, if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God and (expletive deleted) off. OK?”

In case you missed it, here’s Gervais’ celebrity roast.
