Hey, Fatty! Here’s a doughnut, get a COVID shot!

By M.D. Kittle

MADISON — The cream puffs weren’t enough. Neither was the ribeye.

So Gov. Tony Evers is upping the ante on his COVID vaccine bribes, delivering cold, hard, gift cards for shots.

On Tuesday, Evers announced the state will hand out $100 Visa gift cards to Wisconsinites who get their first dose between Aug. 20 and Labor Day. Taxpayers will pick up the tab as Evers taps into his pile of American Rescue Plan Act cash.

In Evers’ bloated bureaucrat tradition, the vaxxed will have to fill out an application at 100.wisconsin.gov. They can expect their Visas within a month and a half.

Evers originally rejected the kinds of vaccine bribes offered in many other states, but he saw the success Michigan was having with its vax lottery and other incentives. Well, gee folks, he just had to jump on the shot SWAG train.

As of Tuesday, 60 percent of Michigan’s population 12 and up had received at least one COVID-19 shot. In Wisconsin, 58 percent of Badger State residents have received at least one dose, according to DHS.

Beyond cash, governments and businesses have offered everything from AirPods to college scholarships to entice the unvaccinated.

And lots of food. In many cases the kind of food the Nanny State usually frowns upon.

Evers’ health department gave out a free cream puff to anyone who got a shot at this year’s Wisconsin State Fair. Earlier this month, the governor tweeted: “In Green Bay and want a FREE half ribeye? Visit the Farmers Market on Broadway tonight and get your #COVID19 vaccine, dinner, and school supplies.”

That giveaway was compliments of JBS USA meat packers, which partnered with Brown County Health and Human Services and Bellin Health to deliver delicious red meat into the bodies and clogged arteries of the freshly vaxxed. One lucky person won “enough beef, pork and poultry … to feed a family of four for a year.”

In Michigan, shots also came with an Original Glazed Doughnut at Krispy Kreme locations just by showing a vaccination card.

In California, free queso at Chipotle and free Doritos Locos tacos at Taco Bell in exchange for vaccinations. And free Big Macs, french fries and Chicken McNuggets in San Diego County

So much for the America’s morbid obesity crisis.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama would be rolling in her Nanny State grave.
