MADISON — President Joe Biden’s sweeping — and constitutionally suspect — COVID-19 vaccination mandates are an “outrageous trampling of civil liberties,” according to U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Oshkosh).
Biden last week lashed out at the 80 million Americans not yet vaccinated at a press conference announcing his power grab. His fiat requires federally mandated vaccinations for employers with more than 100 employees, and mandatory shots for all federal employees.
“This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” Biden said. “And it’s caused by the fact that despite America having [an] unprecedented and successful vaccination program, despite the fact that for almost five months, free vaccines have been available in more than 80,000 different locations, we still have nearly 80 million Americans who have failed to get the shot.”
So the Democrat is going to try to force Americans to get COVID vaccinations — perhaps even a booster — against their will.
“Today’s announcement by President Biden is a level of coercion that I find highly disturbing,” Johnson told Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle Friday on the Vicki McKenna Show, on NewsTalk 1310 WIBA. “His mandate for all federal employees, federal contractors and private sector employees to get vaccinated is a dangerous precedent for what a U.S. president can unilaterally impose on the American public.”
Senator Johnson is our guest today on this edition of PowerUp, Empower Wisconsin’s podcast.
