Pence: The violence must stop

Empower Wisconsin | Aug. 28, 2020

MADISON — In his speech Wednesday at the Republican National Convention, Vice President Mike Pence addressed the mob violence sweeping through U.S. cities.

He specifically mentioned the chaos in Kenosha in the days following Sunday’s officer-involved shooting of a black man, asserting “rioting and looting is not peaceful protest.”

“Let me be clear: the violence must stop, whether in Minneapolis, Portland or Kenosha,” Pence said. “Too many heroes have died defending our freedom to see Americans strike each other down.”
