In March 2020, Dr. John Fleming was at ground zero of the United States’ response to the coronavirus. The former Louisiana congressman had just taken the position as President Donald Trump’s deputy chief of staff on March 23 as all hell was breaking loose.
Fleming was asked to serve as a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, led by Vice President Mike Pence. Fleming and his fellow task force members were learning then what the mainstream media is finally acknowledging more than 14 months later: That COVID-19, a virus that has killed 600,000 Americans and nearly 3.7 million people worldwide, most likely came from a Level 4 virology lab in Wuhan China.
“President Trump had this correct all along,” Fleming told Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle last week on the Friday Afternoon Show, on NewsTalk 1130 WISN in Milwaukee. “The White House never really seriously considered this whole idea about a zoonotic infection coming from bats at a wet market.”
But that’s what China and the World Health Organization claimed, and still claim, despite mounting circumstantial evidence to the contrary. Trump-hating mainstream media outlets, of course, ate it all up, declaring that assertions that put the origins of the virus at the Wuhan lab door amount to “Fake News,” or were racist. In fact, The Washington Post just this week corrected a 2020 article in which the newspaper criticized U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) for insisting the virus could very well have escaped from the Wuhan lab.
“What we got in input (from) the highest levels of intelligence, not government but doctors and scientists in the Wuhan area, (and they were) telling us, ‘The WHO is lying to you. China is lying to you. This is a dangerous infection, it’s highly contagious, it will kill you.’ And that of course was opposite of what we were being told,” Fleming said.
