PowerUp Podcast: Oconomowoc mayoral write-in candidate Lou Kowieski

Empower Wisconsin | Feb. 25,  2020

Oconomowoc City Council President Lou Kowieski was running for mayor of the small Waukesha County city when the Democratic Party tried to stop him.

The local Democrats brought in a big-shot party attorney to challenge Kowieski’s nomination paper’s signatures, and they got some help from the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

Now Kowieski, described as a “business-friendly” conservative, has been forced to run a write-in campaign. While knocked off the ballot by the Elections Commission, the candidate says he’s running to win an election that has been anything but commonplace.

Lou Kowieski spoke to Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle last week on the Dan O’Donnell Show on NewsTalk 1130 WISN. He is our guest today on our PowerUp Podcast.
