PowerUp: Pro-abortion terrorists strike again

Empower Wisconsin  | June 8, 2022

MADISON — Today marks a month to the day that pro-abortion terrorists firebombed Wisconsin Family Action’s Madison headquarters. And police have yet to release any information on the Mother’s Day attack on the pro-life organization.

The apparent lack of urgency in the investigation is all the more concerning after the same pro-abortion radical group that claimed responsibility for the damage done to the Wisconsin Family Action building celebrated firebombing a pro-life Christian pregnancy center in Buffalo N.Y.

Jane’s Revenge, which has developed a reputation for resorting to violence, claimed responsibility for the attack, which left glass shattered and much of the interior of the CompassCare office burned and destroyed, according to National Review.

As in the Madison arson, no one was injured in the Buffalo attack, CBN News reported.

Wisconsin Family Action President Julaine Appling said the next victim may not be so lucky.

“It’s bad enough they’re destroying property, but eventually someone is going to get hurt,” Appling told Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle on Tuesday’s Vicki McKenna Show

Wisconsin Family Action has offered a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals involved in the crime.

Appling said the Madison detective assigned to the case told her that investigators were still waiting for the physical evidence to be processed by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Appling was told the investigation could take a long time.

“I said, ‘Look, we’re not looking for vengeance. We’re not looking for revenge. What we’re looking for is an expeditious handling of this situation before it happens to someone else and before someone gets hurt,” Appling said.

The attackers scrawled on the outside of the Wisconsin Family Action building, “If abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either.”

In claiming responsibility, Jane’s Revenge declared, “This was only a warning…. We demand the disbanding of all anti-choice establishments, fake clinics and violent anti-choice groups within the next 30 days.”

In the Buffalo attack, the arsonists left graffiti on a wall that read, “Jane Was Here.”

Jane’s Revenge has claimed responsibility for multiple such incidents in the last few months, according to National Review. The group also admitted that it threw red paint on the front door of a crisis pregnancy center in Washington, D.C. last week, spray painting “Jane Says Revenge” on the side of the building.

“Ironically, New York’s Governor not only ignored the violence but instead earmarked $35 million in taxpayer funds to increase security at abortion clinics,” CompassCare said in a statement. “Adding insult to injury the New York legislature passed a bill investigating pro-life pregnancy centers precisely because they do not perform abortions.”

The violent incidents come in the wake of a leaked draft decision by the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that would overturn the landmark Roe. v. Wade decision that has federally protected abortion for nearly 50 years. The court’s decision is expected any day, and abortion supporters have said this will be a “summer of rage” if the Supreme Court overturns Roe.

Wisconsin Family Action’s Julaine Appling is our guest on today’s edition of PowerUp, Empower Wisconsin’s podcast.
