MADISON — As the Evers administration on Monday deigned to loosen — by a very small turn — its lockdown restrictions, a growing chorus of voices demanded the immediate re-opening of Wisconsin’s economy.
State Sen. Dave Craig said Gov. Tony Evers has failed in his foremost duty: supporting the constitutions of the United States and the state of Wisconsin.
“That’s been the missing part of the puzzle,” Craig said of the administration’s response to the pandemic.
The constitution, at best, seems to be an afterthought for Team Evers in carrying out the governor’s stay-at-home orders.
“Without the governor using that (the constitution), we are never going to restore Wisconsin to what it was,” said Craig, who joined Empower Wisconsin’s Matt Kittle Monday morning on the Jay Weber Show on NewsTalk 1130 WiSN.
“The governor is talking about how we’re not going to go back to the good old days. Well sorry, Goveronor Evers, that’s not your call. You are not a god. You are not a king who gets to lord over us and tell us that Wisconsin’s best days aren’t ahead of us. They are, if the government does the constitutional thing,” the Town of Vernon Republican said.
