MADISON — On the campaign trail and in his inaugural address, Joe Biden insisted he was the guy who could bring a deeply divided America together.
“This is our historic moment of crisis and challenge, and unity is the path forward,” the president said on his first day in office.
More than 10 months later, Biden has spectacularly failed in delivering on his top campaign promise. And America knows it.
A new poll shows 54 percent of American voters believe Biden is responsible for a divided America. The Convention of States Action poll, conducted by renown pollster The Trafalgar Group, finds 39 percent of the 1,092 respondents think the president is very responsible for the division in the country, while nearly 15 percent say he is somewhat responsible.
Not surprisingly, an overwhelming majority of Republicans (88 percent) feel Biden is to blame. But 64 percent of Independents agree, with more than one-fifth (21percent) of Democrat voters pointing their fingers at Biden for the current state of division.
“President Biden came to office promising a new era of American unity, and he has fulfilled that promise,” said Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action. “Joe Biden has brought together a coalition of Independents, Republicans, and Democrats, united in their disdain for his policies. And now, a majority also believe he is responsible for stoking divisions in our nation.”
Biden’s poll numbers have been abysmal. The latest survey from Hill-HarrisX showed the president’s approval rating at a merger 44 percent. His numbers are worse when you drill down. Just 39 percent of poll respondents approved of Biden’s handling of the economy.
“Leadership requires doing things and saying things that bring people together toward a common goal, not toward a common peril,” Meckler said.
The first infection was Obama, Biden is only the booster…and backlash from those who refuse to drink the KoolAid is growing every day.
