MADISON — Jaime Swan is one of the many victims of Gov. Tony Evers’ incompetent Department of Workforce Development.
The agency that left tens of thousands of out-of-work Wisconsinites without unemployment payments and hope for months has failed to pay the $7,000 it has owed Swan for two years.
As Wisconsin Spotlight reported this week, Swan won her appeal against DWD. An administrative law judge ruled in her favor. Yet, Evers’ dysfunctional Unemployment Insurance division still refused to pay, saying her claim was just “too difficult to deal with.”
When she called in March to contest the decision, a claims specialist told her that she would be paid within six weeks. He lied. Worse, he gave her false hope again.
“He gave me just enough hope to patiently wait again after waiting so many times,” Swan told Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle Thursday on the Vicki McKenna Show. “I thought maybe this time will be it, maybe this time it will work, maybe this time they’ll do something.”
That’s the kind of abuse the Evers administration has put so many hardworking Wisconsinites through.
