MADISON — The same technology used by liberal voting groups to track and target voters in the 2020 presidential election was employed by voter integrity groups in tracking ballot “mules” hitting multiple drop boxes two weeks before the election.
That’s what we learned last week at an Assembly hearing on the myriad election security issues surrounding ballot drop boxes.
As Wisconsin Spotlight reported, True the Vote and VoteStand tracked 138 unique cellphone devices (individuals) that went to drop boxes in the three cities more than 3,500 times. Ultimately, the exhaustive analysis showed 7 percent of Wisconsin’s 1.9 million mail-in ballots were “trafficked” by ballot harvesters.
In using geospatial technology, the investigators also found that 14 of the targeted devices were at one or more of the violent riots that occurred in Wisconsin in the summer of 2020.
State Rep. Janel Brandtjen (R-Menomonee Falls) says the review of data points around drop boxes and liberal activist groups in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Racine exposes just how vulnerable Wisconsin’s elections were in these cities. And the proliferation of absentee ballot drop boxes, blessed by the Wisconsin Elections Commission, opened the door to the weaknesses in the system.
“There is and was no legislation to have drop boxes in the state of Wisconsin, and the WEC took it upon themselves to make up these rules and this is what people suffered,” Brandtjen, chair of the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections, told Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle last week on the Vicki McKenna Show. “They did not have a transparent system of elections because there were no rules for drop boxes.”
