MADISON — As the 7th Congressional District’s new representative, Tom Tiffany begins his work in the swamp with an eye on D.C’s version of Wisconsin’s notorious John Doe investigation.
The northern Wisconsin Republican says this time he wants to see abusive federal law enforcement agents involved in the long, politically driven “witch-hunt” against President Donald Trump face justice.
Tiffany last week attended his first hearing as a member of the House Judiciary Committee.
He compared the federal Deep State attack on Trump to Wisconsin’s unconstitutional John Doe investigation.
“They will go after their political opponents and they will use anything, including exceeding the law, as happened with the John Doe in Wisconsin,” Tiffany told Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle on Friday’s Jay Weber Show, on NewsTalk 1130 WISN in Milwaukee.
The Wisconsin probe was really a vehicle to go after then-Republican Gov. Scott Walker, who, with the GOP-led Legislature, implemented a number of government reform policies that infuriated Big Labor and their Dem friends.
“No one went to jail for those predawn raids on innocent people’s homes,” said Tiffany who played a key role in ending such politically motivated, secret investigations. “Something similar has happened out here in Washington D.C. and I just hope that Attorney General (William) Barr and his people, as they work through this process, hold those people accountable, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, McCabe and Comey.”
Congressman Tiffany is our guest today on this edition of PowerUp, Empower Wisconsin’s podcast.
