As soaring inflation devours personal income, a new U.S. Census Bureau survey finds more than one-third of Americans report difficulties in paying their bills.
Economic stress levels are significantly higher in several states, with the average American paying $300 more per month in living expenses and real average hourly wages dropping, Fox Business reports.
Gasoline prices in Wisconsin hit record prices again last week. Statewide average prices at the pump approached $4.32 per gallon on Friday.
U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Janesville) says the Biden administration refuses to change course on its reckless energy policies, a significant factor in the rising prices.
“It’s so frustrating seeing what we see from Democrats time and time again, a playbook of government control, of government spending, and failing to address the driving cause of this inflation,” Steil told Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle last week on the Vicki McKenna Show. “Easiest of all to fix is to unleash American energy rather than punishing domestic oil and natural gas production.”
