The deadly consequences of President Biden’s failure to secure the U.S. border are filling up American morgues.
U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman, recently returning from a fact-finding mission in Arizona and California, says things are rapidly deteriorating at the Southern border. The U.S. Border Patrol stopped more than 209,000 illegal immigrants last month, the highest number in more than 20 years.
Tens of thousands more are moving through undetected. Grothman said the vast majority of border agents are trapped doing paperwork instead of apprehending drug runners and other dangerous illegal immigrants.
“Which means nobody is guarding the border. That’s why you’re seeing this big increase into the country of people we never touch,” said the Glenbeulah Republican, who represents Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District.
With no one watching, a flood of illegal drugs and related deaths is drowning the nation. Over the past year, nearly 110,000 people have died from drug overdoses in the United States.
Grothman notes there have been nearly twice as many drug-related deaths in just one year than the number of all Americans killed in combat in the Vietnam War.
“It is that bad and the Biden administration really doesn’t seem to care,” the congressman told Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle last week on the Jay Weber Show.
