MADISON — The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped another 486 points on Friday, notching a new low for the year.
It’s the harvest of inflation north of 8 percent and a Federal Reserve aggressively raising interest rates to put out the rising price fires.
U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) was in Wisconsin Saturday, campaigning for his congressional colleagues U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Oshkosh) and U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil (R-1st CD) and calling out the back-breaking spending by Democrats that has fueled the fires of inflation.
“The problem for high inflation was avoidable. President Biden poured gasoline on a raging fire and it exploded,” Scott told Empower Wisconsin’s M.D. Kittle on Friday’s edition of the Vicki McKenna Show before headlining the First Congressional District’s Fall Fest at the Racine County Fairgrounds with Johnson, Steil and Republican candidate for governor Tim Michels.
After trillions of dollars in new spending shoved down Americans’ throats by Democrats in control over the past couple of years, Scott said U.S. consumers are “drowning in a sea of inflation caused by overspending.”
