MADISON — See ya, Santa. Take a hike turkey. Screw you, Cupid.
In the pursuit of offending no one, the Shorewood Village Board is poised to tick off most everyone in Milwaukee’s most woke suburb.
The board is expected next month to consider a policy that would ban holiday decorations in public buildings, both religious and secular, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Interestingly enough, the policy protects snowflakes — the decorations that hang from village streetlights in the winter months. Those are deemed “seasonal.”
Frosty the Snowman figurines, on the other hand, could be a trigger.
“If people are unsure, then it’s probably an option that would not be acceptable under the policy we put forth,” McKenzie Edmonds, a member of the village’s human relations commission, told the newspaper.
So let’s get this straight, snowflakes are fine but Frosty makes Shorewood lose control? Yep. And don’t even get them started on leprechauns and Easter bunnies.
New name for Shorewood:
Scroogewood.
