Streetcar named boondoggle

It was clear from the beginning that Tommy’s Trolly — the Milwaukee streetcar known as The Hop— was going to be a boondoggle of epic proportions.

Time has confirmed what everyone but Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and the most delusional electric rail supporters could see long ago, like a slow train coming.

Fox6 News looks at a streetcar that’s bleeding money but is too costly to shut down.

Anyone with half a brain should know how a vehicle on rails works. A vehicle on rails can only go where the rails are. If the rails are blocked you can’t move. A rubber tire vehicle can be sent down almost any street in the city. The ability to change routes as needed is an asset that is impossible with a vehicle on rails.

How loving of the late Margaret Thatcher eight years after her death to provide us a visual of what she meant when she said, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”

If it stopped at my front door and waited ten minutes for me, gave me a whiskey and seven when I entered with some cheese to nibble, had some good tunes playing, I’d probably still walk because no matter what happens, you’re still in Milwaukee. Location, location, location.

A venture by a Democrat that costs money now! Had to have his Street Car-now no one comes to Milw! Your no Mayor Maier Mr Barrett! That money could have helped somewhere else and not cost Milw more expenses!
