Tool of the Week: CNN attention prostitute Jim Acosta

Jim Acosta has been called a lot of things over his slanted career in journalism. Biased. Obnoxious. Nauseating.

And once again he’s being rightly labeled a hypocrite after accusing President Trump’s Oval Office address last week on the coronavirus of “smacking of xenophobia.”

You see, as Fox News reported, Acosta and his liberal “resistance” network have described the outbreak of COVID-19 as the “Wuhan coronavirus.” That was okay, until CNN and other Trump haters decided it was racist to report the truth: that the coronavirus began in China.

Acosta forgot all about that when he did a live report following the address in which Trump announced, among other actions, that the federal government would implement a temporary European travel ban to help restrain the spread of the pandemic.

“The president referred to the coronavirus as a ‘foreign virus,’ that I think was interesting because, I was talking to sources earlier this evening, one of the points that the president wanted to make tonight, wanted to get across to Americans, is that this virus did not start here, but that they’re dealing with it,” Acosta said. “Now, why the president would go as far to describe it as a foreign virus, that is something we’ll also be asking questions about.”

I don’t know, Jim. Why did you and your network describe the disease as the ‘super spreader’ of Wuhan coronavirus.’

As late as Jan. 23, Acosta tweeted, “Authorities in Beijing have canceled all large-scale Chinese New Year celebrations in an effort to contain the growing spread of Wuhan Coronavirus.”

GOP chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted, “Setting aside that their own network spent weeks referring to it as the ‘Wuhan virus,’ how can that seriously be any objective reporter’s big takeaway?”

It’s not an objective reporter’s big takeaway. It’s the musings of a tool.

And for that Jim Acosta is Empower Wisconsin’s Tool of the Week.
