Often, Empower Wisconsin’s Tool of the Week could just as easily be headlined “the Hypocrite of the Week.”
And do we have a doozie for you this week.
Denver leftist Mayor Michael Hancock, whose office earlier this week warned residents to skip extended family Thanksgivings and stay home for “all but essential travel,” got busted traveling out of state to visit family.
Hancock was seen boarding a flight Wednesday to Houston en route to Mississippi to have Thanksgiving with his wife and daughter.
He has apologized for his lapse in judgment. Well, kind of.
“I fully acknowledge that I have urged everyone to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel,” Hancock wrote. “I have shared how my family canceled our plans for our traditional multi-household Thanksgiving celebration. What I did not share, but should have, is that my wife and my daughter have been in Mississippi, where my daughter recently took a job. As the holiday approached, I decided it would be safer for me to travel to see them than to have two family members travel back to Denver.”
Safer.
In other words (once again), a big government politician who works to curtail liberties — just not his own. If you dare travel to see friends and loved ones, you will either DIE from COVID — or you will be a MURDERER, spreading COVID to our most vulnerable populations. But the Denver Omelette is somehow being safer by doing what he has warned his fellow citizens not to do.
No wonder so many Americans are fed up with the wagging of the finger from the “We’re all in this together” crowd. Hancock and other fear mongering liberals prove we really aren’t.
They’re hypocrites.
And there is no bigger hypocrite among the cancel the holidays army than Denver Mayor Michael Hancock.
