Watching the left’s Kabuki theater last week, we can’t help but wonder what the survivors of 9/11 thought about the ridiculous show.
Sept. 11, 2001 is a date which will truly live in infamy. It was the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Factcheck us on that.
Jan. 6, 2021 was not the deadliest attack on U.S. soil. Factcheck us on that.
But the Democratic Party and its useful idiot propagandists in the “mainstream media” have spent a lot of breath, airtime and print trying to convince voters that the demonstration that degenerated into a riot at the Capitol was so much more than that.
It was, according to Vice President Kamala Harris, another Pearl Harbor, another 9/11.
There are “certain dates [that] echo throughout history, including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them — where they were and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault,” Harris said on the Democrats’ day of lamentations and incriminations.
“Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendars, but a place in our collective memory. December 7th, 1941. September 11th, 2001. And January 6th, 2021,” she said.
Tell that to the people who watched their loved ones die live on TV as the enflamed Twin Towers fell. Tell that to the police officers, the firefighters, the paramedics who lost so many brave brothers and sisters who ran straight into the debris, smoke and flames to save lives. Tell that to the husbands and wives, the moms and dads, the siblings, the friends who see those fuel-loaded planes crash into skyscrapers, the Pentagon, a Pennsylvania field over and over again 20 years later.
“I’m still speechless that our vice president would make that comment,’” Mary Geraghty, whose husband, New York City Fire Department Battalion Chief Edward Geraghty died in the fires of 9/11, told the Daily Mail. “There were terrorists that came onto American soil and slaughtered American citizens. There is absolutely no comparison. Insult is too mild a word.”
Retired Fire Captain Anthony Varriale said the vice president’s political equivalency was like a knife in his gut. Varriale was assigned to Engine 24, Ladder 5 on Sixth Avenue in Manhattan on 9/11.
‘I lost 11 guys in my firehouse,” he told the Daily Mail. “I lost 30 friends in all. I had to dig shredded bodies out of the rubble and she’s going to compare it to that?” He said Harris should step down.
She won’t. Kamala Harris says stupid things all the time. That’s her thing. And it’s the White House’s tiresome duty to try to cover for the tone deaf VP.
But it’s clear the same people who couldn’t bring themselves to use the word “riot” to describe the chaos that burned down portions of Kenosha and other U.S. cities under siege, flubbed up their theatrical production with Harris’ hyperbole.
The vice president’s speech is a performance that will live in infamy, delivered by a tool of the leftist agenda.
