Tool of the Week: Leftists at Ronald Reagan Elementary

MADISON — Ronald Reagan must be rolling in his grave.

A New Berlin elementary school that bears the conservative, 40th president’s name is teaching kids how to be left-wing activists.

As Empower Wisconsin reported last week, Ronald Reagan Elementary School barred a sixth-grade student from choosing the defense of the Second Amendment as his “global activist” project.

New Berlin School District officials finally relented after the boy’s father questioned why Ronald Reagan Elementary has a class on activism in the first place. Andy Mesich’s son, the district said, could do a report on the Second Amendment — as long as he didn’t mention guns.

We at Empower Wisconsin suggest another “global activism” project: Defending the First Amendment. But in this case, Mesich and his son should teach the class. They should also teach the teachers and the district’s administrators, who could use a lesson on the dangers of silencing speech.

It’s sad. Liberal indoctrination and the Cancel Culture have infiltrated public schools just about everywhere. Mesich never thought it would rear its ugly head at Ronald Reagan Elementary. It has — thanks to the usual tools that have forsaken education for the leftist agenda.
