Tool of the Week: The ‘proper side’ decider

Empower Wisconsin | June 29, 2020

MADISON — Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, who has had the great privilege of being chauffeured around the state because he wouldn’t pay his parking tickets, has now declared himself the decider of the “proper side.”

After all hell broke loose in Madison last week, when a violent mob — including members of the Black Lives Matter movement — ripped down statues and firebombed public buildings on Capitol Square, Barnes expressed his sadness and disappointment.

He was sad and disappointed that the mob he and his leftist pals have pandered to and placated over the month-long run of destruction beat the hell out of a vehement advocate for the Black Lives Matter movement.

State Sen. Tim Carpenter, an openly gay Democrat from Milwaukee, was surrounded and beat up by the throng of thugs early Wednesday morning. Why? Because he was videotaping their destruction. It seems the anarchists are as passionate about transparency as Barnes and his boss, Gov. Tony Evers.

It was the latest example of the radical left eating their own during the “mostly peaceful” protests of the last several weeks.

Barnes took to Twitter to scold the monster he’s helped make.

“Very disappointed to see what happened to my friend Senator Tim Carpenter last night. We have a common purpose to bring justice where it has been long overdue and individuals can’t be reduced to collateral damage in the process, especially those on the proper side.”

The proper side?

Carpenter, it is assumed, is on the proper side, at least in Barnes’ estimation.

What about the 28-year-old Sun Prairie man robbed and beaten by the protesters after he turned down the street where they were rioting? Was he on the proper side? He certainly seemed to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

What about retired St. Louis Police officer David Dorn, who was fatally shot while trying to protect a pawn shop from rioters? Was he on the proper side?

What about the many, many Wisconsinites who are genuinely concerned about legitimate incidents of racism but don’t believe the United States of America needs to be restructured, reorganized and redistributed to appease an unhinged force of racists?

Or the people who are appalled by actual cases of police brutality but don’t believe defunding or abolishing the police makes a whole hell of a lot of sense?

Probably not on the “proper side” for the lieutenant governor, another elitist leftist using the latest crisis for his political ends.

That makes him a tool.

  • I am a proud Wisconsinite of 80 years, retired from U.S. Army and a Municipal Police department retiree. I am also the Proud Descendant of a REVOLUTIONARY WAR SOLDIER. I agree that all rioters wearing a mask should be imprisoned. Why is it that the spread of the virus is not blamed on blm and the rioters. Do not allow these low-lives to change American history by destroying it.. STAND UP AMERICA..

  • Regardless of what party some one identifies with “Abe Must Stay!””
There are many a proud alum and current students who walked the hill and always saw Abe there and respected the man for being a
    President!!!
What group has the right ??? to even touch a statue that was placed were it is . It should be a State of Wisconsin /? Federal offense.
Punishable by prison if they remove the statue.
