As if a college education wasn’t costly enough, Tulane University’s student government now wants to charge students a $240 “equity fee.”
The College Fix reports the proposed hike on student fees is designed to fund diversity programs on campus amid complaints “marginalized students” need more support at the private institution.
“Supporting diverse students is a very important priority for Tulane and we intend to carefully consider this proposal by our undergraduate student government leaders,” campus spokesman Mike Strecker told The College Fix.
For the moment, administrators at the New Orleans-based university are “studying the resolution.”
Maybe they figure, what’s a couple hundred more bucks for the average Tulane college student, already on the hook for $55,000 a year in tuition and fees.
How about an “equity fee” for the indentured servants our institutions of higher education are producing?
