Empower Wisconsin this week hosted a press conference with Milwaukee-area public officials calling Gov. Tony Evers to use his authority under law to remove Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm. The DA’s office recommended “inappropriately low” bail for a career violent criminal just days before he was charged with driving his SUV into the Waukesha Christmas parade, killing six and injuring more than 60 others.
Just hours after the press conference, Evers rejected a complaint filed by Milwaukee County citizens calling on the governor to remove Chisholm from office.
State Rep. Joe Sanfelippo (R-New Berlin), Milwaukee mayoral candidate Bob Donovan, and Milwaukee County Board Supervisor Patti Logsdon participated in the press conference. Logsdon’s granddaughter was critically injured in the Waukesha Christmas parade massacre.
