Our hero of the week (unless he turns out to be a serial killer, promoter of dog fights or a socialist) is the frustrated father who balled out presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren for her student loan bailout plan.
At a campaign stop in Iowa last week, the man interrupted Warren’s fatuous selfie social and asked her if he could get back the money he spent helping his daughter get a college education. The Democrat smiled and said, “Of course not.”
The man told the Massachusetts U.S. senator that he worked double shifts to save up enough money for his daughter’s education. But people like him wouldn’t benefit from Warren’s big-government plan to cancel student loan debt of up to $50,000 for some 42 million borrowers.
“We did the right thing and we get screwed,” the man said.
That should be on a T-shirt or on a big sign in front of the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, host of the Democratic National Convention. It certainly is a sentiment on the minds of a lot of Americans questioning all the “free money” liberal politicians propose handing out.
