Wisconsin rallies for liberty

Empower Wisconsin | May 2, 2020

MADISON —Wisconsin is rising up and rallying against the Evers administration’s oppressive and unnecessary lockdowns.

Resistance groups in several Wisconsin communities will hold rallies this weekend demanding Gov. Tony Evers and his team ease their broad stay-at-home orders and re-open Wisconsin.

The demonstrations are occurring in advance of next week’s court action. The Wisconsin Supreme Court late Friday announced it would hear oral arguments in Wisconsin Legislature v. Palm, a case expected to decide whether Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Andrea Palm’s extended lockdown order violated state separation of powers.

Opponents of the restrictions are taking their message directly to the people.

Here are some of the events scheduled:

Jefferson Safer At Home Gridlock Protest

When: Today, 1-4 p.m.

Where: Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson

“We will join other communities throughout the state to protest Governor Evers’ Safer at Home Extended Lock down,” organizers wrote on Facebook.  “Our small businesses are suffering and most have not received SBA or unemployment dollars.”

The group says the public health lockdown “is a government overreach and we must get our small businesses back to work.”

“Our city has decided to take sides. We must make a stand to our local and state government.”

ReOpen Burlington Rally

When: Today, 2-5 p.m.

Where: Echo Veterans Memorial Park. 595 Milwaukee Ave., Burlington

“This is a rally to get our mayor to allow small businesses to begin to open in Burlington. Bring respectful signs, American flags and wear attire either from your favorite Burlington businesses or red, white and blue.”

ReOpen Wisconsin Rally

When: Today, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Where: Brookfield Square, 95 N. Moorland Rd., Brookfield

ReOpen Wisconsin Worship @ The State Capitol Grounds
